High School Students
The BioSTAR High School Research Track introduces motivated students to real scientific research within the company’s active protein science programs. Participants are not treated as tutoring clients, but as junior research trainees who contribute to supervised, hypothesis-driven investigations aligned with BioSTAR’s scientific mission.
This track is designed for students who are intellectually curious, technically motivated, and interested in early exposure to computational and molecular research environments.
Students may participate in projects involving:
• protein structure–function analysis
• protein–protein interaction modeling
• protein–substrate and protein–ligand studies
• molecular simulations and computational biophysics
• experimental data interpretation and validation
• mechanistic hypothesis development
All projects are conducted under direct scientific supervision and follow reproducible research practices.
Participants receive structured guidance in:
• formulating researchable scientific questions
• designing computational experiments
• performing systematic literature analysis
• interpreting peer-reviewed scientific data
• documenting methods and results for publication
Mentorship emphasizes scientific reasoning, rigor, and responsible research conduct.
Qualified projects may progress toward:
• internal research reports
• pre-publication manuscripts
• submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals
Publication is not guaranteed, but scientific quality and reproducibility are treated as primary objectives.
Participation in this track often provides students with:
• early exposure to university-level scientific thinking
• experience working with advanced research tools
• stronger preparation for STEM degree programs
• documented involvement in authentic research projects
These outcomes may support future academic applications, but they are a consequence of research participation — not the program’s primary purpose.
The BioSTAR High School Research Track is designed for students who wish to explore science as it is practiced in real research environments — with uncertainty, rigor, iteration, and discovery — rather than as a classroom exercise.
